| | Committees: | | Athlete committee: Chair persons: Director of Jumps & Bumps, Director of Intro to Comp Team, Director of Comp Team. Purpose: oversee club communications with head coaches, oversee safety issues (handouts, cards, and seminars –with education/social), organize camps/events with head coaches, gifts and get well cards, organize (with coaches) goal setting and goal achievement review with athletes, organize travel to competitions. | | | | Audit committee: Chair Person: Treasurer. Purpose: to review financial statements in order to prepare year end financial statement. | | | Competition and Event committee: Chair person: Director of Competitions. Purpose: to identify and define the roles need volunteers for every competition (home and away) and ski event, recruit and ensure these positions are filled, oversee registration for competitions, manage bibs, ensure video of events, ensure communication of results to members (especially of club competitions as results are not consistently posted on AFSA site for these events); create handouts describing competition jobs to facilitate volunteer understanding of their roles; organize with social committee education nights outlining job responsibilities; identify roles in the freestyle committee where more volunteers are needed (eg. Judging) and help set up mentoring and education sessions. | | | Fund raising committee: Chair person: Director of Fund raising. Purpose: to coordinate casino fund raising, to organize fund raising events (e.g. mogul-thon, silent auction), to investigate other fund raising opportunities, to pursue grant applications, coordinate prizes, food and beverage donations for events. | | | Social committee: Chair person: Director of Volunteers. Purpose: to organize and coordinate social events through the season, determine what assistance is needed from other committees (such as fund raising for donations, and competitions committee for education night topics), to enlist volunteers to help with these events. Events may include competition banquets, year end banquets, Fall social, education nights. Participation on this committee does not obligate members to participate in every social event. The more people on this committee, the more events we can offer, and the more we can divide up the work. |
